Strep throat care made easier

If you or a loved one is experiencing the symptoms of strep throat, you already know how uncomfortable it can feel. A scratchy, painful throat combined with a fever makes for an unpleasant experience. Fortunately, strep throat patients no longer have to travel to the local urgent care. Instead, DispatchHealth will travel to you, diagnose you or your loved one’s strep throat, and initiate a course of treatment in the comfort of your home. On top of that, you’ll pay a fraction of what you would at an emergency room. You can download our app to schedule an appointment.

If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Strep throat: causes, symptoms, & treatment

Strep throat is a highly contagious infection that is transmitted from person to person. Once exposed, a carrier will begin to show symptoms within 1-3 days. Strep throat symptoms will persist from anywhere between 7-10 days.

The most common symptoms include:

  • Throat pain
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Fever
  • Swollen lymph nodes

Medical treatment will help resolve the symptoms faster. Treatment may include antibiotics to eliminate the infection, as well as other medications for symptom management. Children are especially prone to strep throat, and cases become more rare into adulthood.

If left untreated

Untreated strep throat can cause infections in other areas of the ear, nose, and throat. The most common spread of infection includes the tonsils and ear infections. Not treating strep throat can prolong the symptoms, making it harder to get back to work or school. DispatchHealth can help relieve your strep throat symptoms and non-life-threatening conditions today – contact us to learn more.

  • They brought everything you would see in an emergency room, but the emergency room was our bedroom! They set up an IV. They knew what they were doing. And they were very personable. We never felt rushed. And the insurance covered it all. We didn’t have to pay a dime.
