DispatchHealth Launches in Daytona, Florida

Daytona

Get excited, Daytona—DispatchHealth is pleased to bring comprehensive same-day, in-home medical services to your city. We make healthcare more convenient than ever by offering a complete range of on-demand, non-emergency medical services in the comfort of our patient’s own homes. This means receiving the care you need is as simple as giving us a call and allowing our friendly clinicians to come to you. And, we’re available 365 days a year and cater to patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors with chronic health concerns.

What We Treat

DispatchHealth eliminates unnecessary trips to the emergency room by bringing many urgent medical services to your doorstep. While time-sensitive issues and life-or-limb-threatening medical concerns should always be treated at the ER, we can cover just about anything else. For example, a few of the illnesses and injuries we frequently treat include:

  • Asthma and allergies
  • Bedsores and pressure ulcers
  • Bronchitis
  • COVID-19
  • Dehydration
  • Eye infections
  • Flu (influenza)
  • Food poisoning
  • Infected wounds
  • Migraines
  • Minor fractures, sprains, and strains
  • Pneumonia
  • Sinus infections
  • Strep throat
  • Urinary tract infections

We’re also equipped to perform many basic diagnostic tests and minor procedures in the home environment, including but not limited to:

  • 12-lead EKG, PT/INR
  • COVID-19 testing
  • Flu testing
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Strep testing
  • Stool culture
  • Urinalysis and urine culture
  • Catheter placement
  • IV fluids
  • Splinting, staples, and suturing
  • X-rays
  • Ultrasounds

We’ll round out our visit by calling in any necessary prescriptions to your pharmacy of choice. In the event that you require additional screening or imaging services, our team will collaborate with a third-party, in-network imaging company to provide the care you need.

COVID-19 Response

DispatchHealth prioritizes the well-being of our patients and team members. As our patient, you can be assured that we’re carefully following infection control guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and taking extra precautions to deliver a safe care experience. All vehicles and medical equipment are thoroughly sanitized following each visit and clinicians are equipped with personal protection equipment to safely deliver in-home care.

Comprehensive In-Home Care

Of course, healthcare encompasses more than just the occasional stomach bug or sprained ankle. You or a loved one may also require care for a chronic medical condition such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or diverticulitis. DispatchHealth’s fully equipped medical teams—which include a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, along with a medical technician and an ER physician available by phone—have ample experience assisting patients with chronic conditions. We commonly provide in-home medical care for

COPD flare-ups, Crohn’s disease exacerbations, congestive heart failure side effects, and complications from other ongoing medical concerns.

Additionally, DispatchHealth takes a well-rounded approach to care that involves every member of a patient’s healthcare team. Following our visit, we’ll send a detailed medical report to your established primary care provider or medical specialists to keep them in the loop on your condition.

A Chat With Our Market Manager, Kimi McBryde

Share a bit about your role at DispatchHealth.

I am the market manager for Daytona Beach, a role that manages the operational tasks and rigor for each office. As part of this role, I am partnered with a lead advanced practice provider, who in FL is a nurse practitioner, and we are in charge of the office together. I get to interact with our teams daily, keep the office running, train and be a resource for our DHMTs, and grow into management with the guidance of our regional director. In short, this role is one piece of the greater management system that enables our providers to focus on patient care and safety.

Why are you excited to be a part of DispatchHealth?

Dispatch is truly the next step in patient care and safety. By seeing patients in their own homes, we are opening the door for further conversations and patient success in terms of social work aspects, as well as viewing the patient as a whole person and whole set of symptoms and characteristics, rather than in the stark, cold, environment that is traditional urgent care or emergency room.

Why is DispatchHealth launching in the Daytona Beach area?

Dispatch Health is launching in Daytona Beach in partnership with Advent Health. This is a really exciting partnership that promotes what both organizations focus on: the whole patient and increasing patient safety and mortality. Advent prioritizes seeing a patient as the whole person, which is very in tune with the #DispatchWay--our core beliefs for patient care, team interactions, and company success.

How will DispatchHealth make an impact on healthcare in the Daytona Beach area?

We are bringing top-notch care to the patients. Not only is this creating availability for same-day appointments, but we are meeting the patient where they are. Our teams are incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable, both medically and about the patient populations, we will be interacting within the Daytona area. The ability to bring in incredible care to the patient’s home, and then have detail-oriented follow up both with the patient and with the patient’s physicians (PCP and specialists) is how we bring world-class care to the patient’s homes.

Home is Where Your Health Is™

DispatchHealth strives to make top-quality in-home medical care accessible to everyone. Our rates are surprisingly affordable (typically the same as an urgent care clinic’s) and we accept most health insurance plans, including Medicare. We bill insurance companies just like an urgent care center in most cases, but we bring the urgent care directly to you!

When leaving home for routine medical care is difficult, unadvised, or inconvenient, allow DispatchHealth to help. You can request in-home care in Daytona by giving us a call, going on our website, or using our easy-to-navigate app. One of our fully equipped medical teams will arrive at your doorstep in a matter of hours so you can get back to feeling like yourself as soon as possible.
