What insurance plans are in network with DispatchHealth?

We work with our partners to support optimal insurance coverage per market. We are in-network providers with Medicare, Medicaid, a majority of national payers, and many regional/local payers as well. We also contract directly with value-based providers and health systems. Please reach out to our Partnership team to learn more about coverage in your local area.

What types of care does DispatchHealth provide?

Designed specifically to meet the needs of high-need, high-acuity patients, our in-home services include acute care, bridge care following a procedure or hospitalization, advanced care for serious health episodes, and mobile imaging. To learn more about our offerings and patient eligibility, please contact our Partnership team.

What types of patients are the best fit for DispatchHealth’s services?

DispatchHealth is best suited to treat medically complex, high-need patients, as well as those who frequently rely on the ER or hospital for care when it’s not medically necessary.

A medically complex patient is a person with multiple chronic health conditions that require high-touch care, such as heart failure, diabetes, or COPD. These patients often need timely, proactive coordinated care to prevent their health from worsening.

A high-need patient is someone whose medical, social, behavioral, or environmental challenges—like limited mobility, frequent ER visits, or difficulty accessing care—make it harder for them to stay healthy without extra support. A persistent high utilizer, or “frequent flyer,” is an individual who frequently visits the ER for medical issues that could often be treated in a lower-cost, more appropriate setting like the home.

What types of conditions does DispatchHealth treat?

Our care teams are equipped to handle the full range of routine procedures offered in a hospital or ER to patients facing serious or complex conditions. By providing care in the home, we expand access for those who are too ill to travel, those with mobility issues and patients with a pattern of excessive unnecessary ER utilization.

Can DispatchHealth provide care in settings other than the patient’s home?

Yes, we can see and treat patients who reside in hotels, senior living communities, memory care centers, shelters, and group homes to name a few. Our care teams require a physical address to locate the patient and a safe, private space for evaluation and treatment. In most cases, we are unable to provide care in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) due to provider licensing requirements.

How do DispatchHealth providers coordinate care with the patient’s primary care physician or specialist?

Our providers are trained to tuck patients back into their primary medical home at the conclusion of each visit. With the patient’s consent, we deliver clinical visit notes to the patient’s PCP within 48 hours of the visit being completed. If a patient does not have an established PCP, our provider will make a referral. Any lab results or imaging studies, if clinically necessary, are also faxed to the PCP for continuity of care.

How can care teams refer patients to DispatchHealth?

Our web-based tool, DispatchExpress, facilitates easy online referrals in about three minutes and can be integrated into provider and health system EMR platforms. To learn more about the process, please reach out to our Partnerships team.
