At DispatchHealth, we believe that healthcare vastly improves when it is delivered to your home. One reason is that many problems in healthcare originate at the point where you transfer from one care setting to another; e.g., from home to an emergency room, from an ER to a hospital room, or from a hospital to a rehabilitation center. That’s because a transition sets the stage for potential missteps, such as ineffective communication, incomplete transfer of information, and the absence of a single point person to ensure continuity of care. But if you receive a whole system of care at home, many of these problems are eliminated.
How We Streamline and Improve Healthcare
When you contact DispatchHealth, our first step will be to make sure you don’t have a time-sensitive condition that requires prompt care in an emergency room. If not, we will ask a few key questions about your chief medical condition, then get our team out to see and take care of you right away.
As part of our whole system of care at home, DispatchHealth provides:
Urgent Medical Care
DispatchHealth offers an integrated healthcare delivery solution that allows you to receive acute medical care from the comfort of home 365 days a year. We will partner with your existing care team—primary care providers, orthopedists, urologists, cardiologists, general surgeons, neurologists, gastroenterologists, and/or pediatricians—to evaluate and treat you when you need to be seen the same day. Through this partnership, we will provide on-demand medical care for urgent illnesses and injuries that do not require an emergency room visit, such as:
- Viral infections, including the common cold, flu, and COVID-19
- COPD exacerbations
- Congestive heart failure
- Bruises, sprains, and strains
- Minor fractures
Advanced Care and Extended Care
At DispatchHealth, we recognize that if you require an advanced level of clinical care, you can benefit from staying home to recover from your acute illness over multiple days. To meet this need, we expanded upon our proven ability to effectively treat acute illnesses and injuries at home. We now offer an advanced care service through which you can receive comprehensive, in-home medical care as an alternative to hospital admission. We also offer an extended care service through which you can receive up to 30 days of in-home clinical support if you are transitioning from a hospital but still need extended specialized care.
By offering advanced and extended care, DispatchHealth can help you avoid unnecessary and expensive hospital admissions and post-acute facility-based care. Instead, you can receive the care you need at home.
To complement our mobile patient care and hospital-at-home services, DispatchHealth can bring imaging services into your home if you need radiology or ultrasonography during our visit. We offer hospital-grade X-ray, ultrasound, Doppler, and bone density imaging provided by our in-home radiology partners, PPX, Dynamic Mobile Imaging, and others across the country. As such, we can eliminate the risks, noise, and disruption of transporting you to an imaging center. What’s more, our mobile imaging service streamlines the diagnostic process and provides quicker results so you can begin treatment--and healing--sooner.
Our Innovative, Patient-Centric Healthcare Model
At DispatchHealth, we know it’s best for you to receive care from your own doctor, but we also know that’s not always possible. Through our proven in-home healthcare platform, we quickly extend healthcare beyond the typical clinic and hospital settings and take it to the next level with full capabilities and prompt service. We can also provide rapid feedback to your existing care team to keep them fully apprised of your status. By working as an adjunct to your primary care or specialty care provider, DispatchHealth can make sure you receive appropriate ongoing care.
