Phoenix, Arizona

The city of Phoenix, Arizona is known for sunshine, desert beauty and a vibrant cultural scene. The city is the fifth largest in the U.S. and growing. People from across the country and the world are attracted to its thriving business environment, exciting outdoor activities, diverse food choices and much more.

Phoenix has all the perks of a big city but feels like a close-knit, small-town community. DispatchHealth is proud to care for residents in Phoenix and the surrounding areas.

Expanding at-home medical care in Phoenix

The DispatchHealth Phoenix office opened in August 2017 with a small staff that was excited to provide at-home medical care. We’re proud to say that demand for our services has grown, and today we have a staff of more than 50 medical technicians and advanced practice providers. Our Phoenix office provides:

  • Acute Care: Our Acute Care teams include a physician assistant or nurse practitioner and medical technician. These specialists come to your home to treat non-life-threatening conditions. Our providers helped more than two-thirds of patients avoid an emergency room visit. The most common illnesses we treated in Phoenix in 2022 were upper respiratory infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and pneumonia, but we treat many other conditions, too. Learn more about the conditions we treat.
  • Advanced Care: If you have longer-term healthcare needs, we can help you receive this care at home. Our Advanced Care team is led by a board-certified hospitalist-trained internist. This service is designed to help people who might otherwise need long-term hospital care. Read more about advanced care with DispatchHealth.
  • Bridge Care: Our Bridge Care is an alternative to a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility. These teams help patients who recently had an emergency room visit or hospital admission. We support your transition home with ongoing, in-home care.
  • Mobile imaging services: Getting an imaging test in the comfort of your home is possible with DispatchHealth. Our imaging service brings X-ray, ultrasound, and other imaging tests to you, so you don’t have to travel. Learn more about our at-home imaging services.

Our team’s thoughts on Phoenix

Our Phoenix team includes a mix of Phoenix natives and people who moved here from across the country. Every day, our diverse team focuses on our mission to deliver trusted, compassionate care in the comfort of home. A few of our Phoenix team members explain what they love about the area and working at DispatchHealth.

Patients make Phoenix a pleasure

Jamie Conklin, PA-C, is our lead advanced practice provider (APP). If you’ve called DispatchHealth for an in-home visit, you may have met Jamie or one of our other APPs. Their job is to provide expert medical care in your home, so you don’t have to travel.

“There are so many reasons to love working for DispatchHealth in Phoenix,” says Jamie. “The sun is almost always shining, and there’s no shortage of beautiful scenery. From the cacti to mountains and Sedona, the views are breathtaking. I get to enjoy this beauty as I travel to patients’ homes.”

Jamie says there’s one factor that makes her work at DispatchHealth truly special. “Our patients are so quick to express their appreciation for our care,” she says. “Every day, I look forward to meeting them and helping them feel better, right in their home.”

A soft spot for seniors

Terri Hale, PA, who came to Phoenix from Texas, is also a familiar face for area patients. As a physician assistant, Hale sees acute care patients in their homes for a variety of health issues. She’s been with DispatchHealth for more than four years.

“Like most people, I love the Phoenix weather and the fact that it doesn’t snow here,” says Hale. “And working at DispatchHealth is rewarding for me. I can care for patients without being limited to a healthcare facility. I especially love caring for the older adults in the Phoenix area.”

Joy in providing care at home

The warm winters and vibrant nightlife brought Daniel Ohmes, PA, to Phoenix from his hometown of Denver. He’s visited Sedona and the Grand Canyon, and he also loves soaking in all that the big city has to offer.

“There’s no shortage of great food and fun things to do in Phoenix,” Ohmes says. “During my time off, I enjoy exploring new places and activities.”

As a physician assistant, Ohmes says his time at DispatchHealth is uniquely fulfilling. “I like working for DispatchHealth because we provide care that used to require a medical facility,” says Ohmes. “With our help, many patients can be treated at home and avoid the hospital. I also enjoy caring for patients at assisted living facilities. Many of them already know who we are, and they always make us feel welcome.”

Right at home in Phoenix

Each member of our Phoenix team brings something special to DispatchHealth. And every day, we combine our own skills and abilities to provide the highest quality, in-home medical care.

Our team extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Phoenix community. You are a pleasure to serve, and we look forward to many more years of caring for you.
