Meet DispatchHealth - Who We Are and What We Do

DispatchHealth COVID team treating a child

At DispatchHealth, we see healthcare differently. That’s why we reimagined the modern house call, and go above and beyond to deliver fast, affordable, and accessible at-home medical care. Our patients simply request a visit with us and a fully equipped medical team brings care to their doorstep, ready to provide the treatment they need. That’s the DispatchHealth difference.

Who We Are

In 2013, Dr. Mark Prather, MD, MBA and Kevin Riddleberger, MBA, MS, PA-C, set out to create a different kind of healthcare experience. They believed that medical care can be accessible, affordable, and efficient. Their mission was to redefine the healthcare industry to benefit patients first and foremost. They founded DispatchHealth to provide communities throughout the United States with an integrated, convenient, and high-touch healthcare delivery system that offers quality medical care at home. Bringing together the best minds in engineering, medicine, and business, DispatchHealth is redefining the healthcare experience. We’re helping to reduce emergency room and urgent care visits, improve clinical outcomes for patients, and extend the reach of primary care physicians, medical specialists, and other provider groups. Offering better access to quality healthcare is the mission here at DispatchHealth, and we’re continually finding ways to better execute our services and better serve our patients.

What We Do

A typical patient experience begins with requesting a visit—and we’ve gone to great lengths to make this part of the process as straightforward as possible. Patients can request a visit through our website or by phone call. They’ll talk with one of our clinical team members who will learn about the symptoms they are experiencing. While we treat a wide range of conditions and offer an array of medical services, we want to ensure a patient isn’t experiencing an emergency or requires care beyond what we can provide.

Acute Care Services From DispatchHealth

If the patient is looking for acute medical care, we will dispatch a medical team to their location. We have medical teams located across the United States, from Washington to Florida. This medical team will consist of a Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner as well as a DispatchHealth Medical Technician (DHMT). A physician trained in emergency medicine is also available by phone.

Our medical teams can provide treatment for a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:

Advanced Care & Bridge Care Services From DispatchHealth

Alongside our Acute Care service, we also offer Advanced Care and Bridge Care services for our patients. These services are crucial to our mission of offering more accessible, convenient, and integrated care. While Acute Care is best for patients experiencing immediate—but non-life-threatening—medical needs, our Advanced Care and Bridge Care programs are an alternative to hospital-based care, delivering high-acuity in-home medical care to patients. Patients can recover comfortably at home while receiving remote patient monitoring, nursing services, physical therapy, and coordinated care from the DispatchHealth medical team.

Our Advanced Care and Bridge Care services are available every day of the year and the medical team includes an internal medicine-trained physician along with a physician assistant or nurse practitioner.
