DispatchHealth—one of the nation’s leading mobile healthcare providers—launched in Tucson, Arizona, on February 18th, 2021. Since our founding in 2013, we’ve opened 28 locations across the nation, and we’re delighted to add Tucson to our ever-growing list of areas served.

What is DispatchHealth?

DispatchHealth brings same-day medical care to your home for urgent illnesses and injuries that do not require an ER visit. This service allows you to recover comfortably at home for a lower cost. DispatchHealth is a convenient and affordable alternative to an urgent care or emergency room visit.

DispatchHealth’s in-home treatment services minimize that risk and also eliminate the hassle of having to leave your house for medical care. What’s more, our at-home treatment services cost about the same as a visit to an urgent care clinic, and just a fraction of what you could expect to pay for a trip to the ER. We’re in-network with most major medical insurance carriers, including Medicare and Medicaid, and we also offer a reasonable flat rate for patients who are currently uninsured.

What Local Leaders Are Saying About DispatchHealth

We asked our Tucson Market Manager Brian Oosterbaan, MBA, PMP, a few questions about our launch in the Tucson area:

Can you share a bit about your role at DispatchHealth?

“As the Market Manager, I oversee the daily operations of the clinical teams in Tucson including assisting in navigating any challenges they encounter, working with the Business Development Representative on building and growing the relationships DispatchHealth has with other healthcare agencies, providing guidance to the DispatchHealth Medical Technicians (DHMTs), and managing the general business aspects of the operation.”

Why are you excited to be a part of DispatchHealth?

“As a long-time paramedic in Southern Arizona, I know that DispatchHealth fills a void in the healthcare industry. Bringing the right level of care directly to the comfort of the patient’s home rather than patients being faced with limited options in acute care and ambiguity on where they should go to receive care is amazing. It is exciting to be a part of a company that is redefining an industry and experiencing incredible growth because of the demand for our services.”

Why is DispatchHealth launching in the Tucson area?

“DispatchHealth is launching in the greater Tucson area because of the need for our in-home medical services. Arizona has a large population of senior citizens and a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. As highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a need for alternative care models in Tucson for citizens to receive the best care for themselves and their loved ones.”

How will DispatchHealth make an impact on healthcare in the Tucson area?

“By delivering personalized, same-day medical care to the home, DispatchHealth will lessen the strain on the hospital and EMS systems while providing a safe alternative to the citizens. Home-bound citizens will have the ability to address urgent medical needs without calling an ambulance and going into the emergency room.”

Anything else you’d like to share about DispatchHealth’s launch in Tucson?

“In meeting with established senior care communities, home health agencies, and primary care physicians, it has been clear that the service DispatchHealth provides is not only needed, but highly desired. There truly has been a gap that was unaddressed in the area that DispatchHealth is filling perfectly.”
